Originating from South Wales, UK, Garfield Jones was educated at Norwich City College, England where he obtained his HCIMA Part B professional qualification (BSc), and has more than 35 years’ experience in the hotel industry, working in top hotels in the UK, Africa and the Middle East. He joined the Gulf Hotel Bahrain in 1995 as Food & Beverage Manager, holding various management positions before transferring to the Group’s Corporate Office in 2002 as Director of Operations. In January 2007, he moved up to the role of Deputy Chief Executive Officer.
Mr. Jones has played an instrumental part in the expansion of Gulf Hotels Group into Bahrain’s leading home-grown hotel group, having overseen numerous development projects including the Ocean Paradise Resort in Zanzibar, the K Hotel in Juffair, the Asdal Gulf Inn in Seef and the Gulf Residence Amwaj. Within the Gulf Hotel he has overseen the development and opening of the Gulf Convention Centre and the Gulf Executive Residence, together with the China Garden, Fusions, Royal Thai, Mexican, Iranian and Rasoi by Vineet Restaurants.
He currently represents Gulf Hotels Group on the Board of Bahrain Family Leisure Company
